As the weather starts to improve over the next few weeks, it is time to get into the summer spirit by sampling some amazing cocktails Nottingham style, dreaming of chilling out in a hammock somewhere hot and exotic. Here are five of our favourite cocktails that you need to try right now, all of which are available in our No/6 Lounge and Bar.
- Cosmopolitan
The Cosmopolitan is a classic cocktail enjoyed the world over. What does it say about the drinker of such a cocktail? It says that the person is sophisticated and fun; they enjoy a good night out. Filled with the fruity flavours of cranberry juice and lime juice, accompanied by Chase and Cointreau, it is the perfect drink for someone who likes something sweet to taste.
- Old Fashioned
This is an old favourite and as the name suggests, it is from an era long ago but has resurged as a popular modern choice of cocktail. A drink for the whiskey lovers, the Old Fashioned is comprised of Eagle Rare bourbon whiskey, Angostura bitter and a brown sugar cube. Orange zest provides the perfect garnish for this classic drink. Not only does it taste great, but it looks like a lot of fun too if you like to cause a bit of a stir.
- Mojito
The Mojito is a refreshing blend of Bathtub Rhumbullion, fresh lime, mint leaves and gomme, poured over crushed ice. If you don’t love mint then you probably are not going to be a fan of the Mojito but if minty and fresh is your thing, this is the cocktail for you. - Hazelnut Martini
Looking for something a little special? The Hazelnut Martini is an intriguing twist on an all-time favourite, combining Stolichnaya, Kahlua, Briotett Cacao, Hazelnut Monin and milk. Deliciously different, this is a fantastic cocktail to treat yourself to. The only problem with a martini is that the glass is so small and the treat is soon over - but you can always order one more!
- Caipirinha
This Brazilian-born cocktail is made up of Cachaca Vehlo Barreiro, gomme and lime. When you are feeling like bringing some Latino inspired fun to the party, this is the ideal cocktail to get you started. You will soon be letting your hair down! If you like your rum, this is definitely the cocktail for you
